Men's Basketball upended by Haverford, 68-63

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ursinus freshman forward Joseph LoStracco had a game-high 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting, but, Ursinus (3-8 Centennial, 6-12) fell to Haverford (4-14, 2-9 Centennial) 68-63 on the Main Line.

Ursinus shot 51.9 percent in the contest, with junior guard Malik Draper scoring nine with freshman forward Remi Janicot and sophomore guard Matt Knowles adding in eight.

Haverford got 22 points from Matt Sherman, and 15 points from Lucas Colombo. Justin Winkler chipped in ten.

The difference in the game was on the foul line, as Haverford made 60 percent of their attempts (18-for-30) while Ursinus made just 41.7 percent (10-for-24).

Trailing 33-20 at intermission, Ursinus got to within three with 1:37 left on a three-point play by LoStracco. Back-to-back foul shots from Colombo put the Fords back up five, before LoStracco scored again to get the Bears back within three at 66-63.

LoStracco grabbed nine rebounds, as the Bears had a 35-26 edge on the glass.

Ursinus heads to Gettysburg on Saturday.
