Men's Basketball outlasts Eastern, 100-92

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus got 24 points from freshman forward Joseph LoStracco and 23 points from freshman forward Remi Janicot as the Bears (1-7) snapped their seven game losing streak with a 100-92 win over Eastern (3-6) on Wednesday night.

LoStracco tied a Centennial Conference record (held by six other people) as he went a perfect 11-for-11 from the field and 2-for-2 from the foul line. Janicot was impressive as he picked up a game-high 12 rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field (6-for-12).

Eastern shot an eye-popping 44 three-pointers in the contest, sinking 15. Sophomore Shaquan Turk had a game-high 25 points with sophomore guard Tarek Hamzeh scoring 20.

Ursinus went 35-for-55 from the field (63.6 percent) and rallied from a 14 point first-half deficit with 4:36 left as they cut the Eastern lead to 55-49 at intermission. In the second half, Ursinus took the lead for good at 85-83 on a three-point play by junior guard Malik Draper. Draper finished with 14 points. The Bears did not miss a field goal in the final 4:44 of the contest.

The Bears owned a 48-21 edge on the glass, with Draper grabbing seven. Freshman guard Brian Rafferty had nine assists.
