Men's Basketball falls to Franklin & Marshall, 64-49

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa -  The Ursinus men's basketball team is still searching for their first win after being defeated by Centennial front runner Franklin & Marshall 64-49, Tuesday evening at Helffrich Hall.

The Bears remain winless overall with a record of 0-6 and 0-3 in the Centennial Conference. The Diplomats continue their strong season, still undefeated 7-0 and 3-0 in conference.

Junior guard Matt Knowles led the Bears with 15 points four steals and four rebounds. Steve Leonard also excelled netting 10 points hitting two three point shots on the evening.

The Diplomats opened the contest on a 16-0 run, holding the Bears scoreless for the first nine minutes of the game. Ursinus tried to battle back but were overmatched only shooting 29% going into the half down 36-16.

The second half fared better for Ursinus shooting 40% and outscoring the Franklin and Marshall 33-28, but their slow start held them back from making a comeback.

The Bears will return to action Saturday afternoon at McDaniel.
