SWARTHMORE, Pa. -  Despite 16 points from junior guard Malik Draper, Ursinus could not fend off Swarthmore (1-3, 1-1 Centennial) as the Garnet won its first conference game on Tuesday night in Delaware County by a score of 75-63.

Swarthmore was led by Chris Bourne who scored a game-high 24 points.

Ursinus also got 12 points from sophomore guard Matt Knowles, and eight points from freshman forward Remi Janicot in the loss.

Swarthmore took control of the game when the Garnet, trailing 10-8, went on a 20-4 run over a span of 7:30 in the middle part of the first half to go up 28-14.

In the second half, Ursinus got to within five at 42-37 with 15:47 left in the game when Knowles hit a jumper. The closest Ursinus would get would be four at 53-49 when Draper hit a three-pointer with 9:10 left in the contest.

Swarthmore then went on a short 7-0 run over a span of 2:08 to put the game away.

Draper finished with six rebounds for the Bears, who return to Delaware County on Saturday afternoon to face Widener.
