MBB drops opener, 85-67, to Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Ursinus opened its 2014-15 season by taking part in the Centennial/MAC Challenge, and fell to Arcadia by a 85-67 score in the opener for both scores.

The Bears (0-1), who will host the second day of the challenge on Sunday, got 16 points from junior guard Malik Draper (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) and 15 points from sophomore guard Matt Knowles (Waverly, Pa./Scranton Prep) in the loss.

Arcadia was led by 14 points from senior guard Travis Saltus, and 11 points from senior forward Matt Brown.

Ursinus never led, but, did get within seven points several times in the first half.

Ursinus held a 36-35 edge in rebounding with freshman forward Remi Janicot and freshman guard Brian Rafferty each getting six.

The Bears take on Albright, at home, at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
