MBB downs Haverford, 86-71

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Playing in its final two weeks of the season, the Ursinus College men's basketball team has put together its best three games which continued Wednesday night as the Bears (6-18, 4-13 Centennial) defeated Haverford (8-15, 4-13 Centennial) 86-71 at Gooding Arena.


Ursinus pushed its win streak to three and swept the season series from the Fords and won its first road game since Feb. 6, 2013, which also came at Haverford. 

The Bears were led by 17 points from senior point guard Jesse Krasna, while sophomore guard Malik Draper continued to finish up strong with 14 points. The Bears put four players in double figures with senior forward Ryan Adams scoring 12 and freshman guard Matt Knowles getting into the action with ten points on 4-for-7 shooting. 

Ursinus, who led wire-to-wire, led by as much as 21 points and fended off a big second half charge by the Fords, who got to within five. 

Haverford was led 15 points from senior guard Brett Cohen and 13 each from Louis Cipriano and Gibby Graves.  

The Bears outrebounded the Fords, 45-37, with Krasna grabbing six.

Ursinus heads to Muhlenberg on Saturday, to close the season with a 4 p.m. tip.
