Gettysburg takes out Men's Basketball, 76-49

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa –  Senior Forward Ryan Adams recorded his second double – double of the season and led Ursinus (3-16, 1-11 Centennial) with 15 points and 12 rebounds, but, the Bears fell short to Gettysburg (9-10, 7-5 Centennial)  76-49 in Helfferich Gymnasium Saturday afternoon in men's basketball action.

Gettysburg forward Cody Kiefer had a double-double of his own scoring 27 points shooting 50 percent and scooping up 12 rebounds.

Senior guard Pat Vasuria continued with a strong performance scoring 16 points and three steals.

Gettysburg opened the game with an 11-2 run over the bears, but, Vasturia led the Bears on a quick turnaround with a key three point shot to help tie up the game 17-17 with 11 minutes in the first half.

The Bullets then clamped down on defense, holding Ursinus to eight points for the rest of the first half.

Trailing 37-25 at intermission, Ursinus got it to eight points at 39-31 with 18:06 left on a basket by senior guard Jesse Krasna. Krasna finished with six points on the day, and now needs 76 points to reach 1,000 in his career with just six games left.

Gettysburg continued the defensive pressure in the second half, holding Ursinus to just one field goal over the final 8:51. Tanner Kirkpatrick had 15 points, while Connor Poston scored 14 for the Bullets.

Ursinus heads to Swarthmore on Wednesday.
