SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Ursinus junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) made a three-point play with just two minutes to play in the second half to help push Ursinus (7-10, 6-4 Centennial) to a 75-72 win over Swarthmore (1-16, 1-9 Centennial) Saturday afternoon at Tarble Pavilion.

Ward finished the game with 21 points, while sophomore guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) and junior forward Kevin Janowski (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) each added in 12 points.

Ursinus, who led 39-30 at intermission, trailed by as much six in the second half. The Bears outscored the Garnet 13-5 over the final 6:06 of the half, holding Swarthmore to just one field goal over that span.

Ursinus had a 38-20 lead on the glass, with Krasna picking up a season-high 11 rebounds and also dished out five assists. The Bears also went 21-for-26 from the foul line, including perfect marks from Janowski (1-for-1), Krasna (4-for-4) and freshman forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) (4-for-4).

Swarthmore got 17 points from Will Gates, with Jay Kober scoring 13.

The Bears host Washington College on Wednesday at 8. The two teams, who will be meeting for the first time this season, will be battling for third place in the conference.
