COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's basketball team started off the 2012 portion of their schedule with a 71-55 win over Johns Hopkins Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall.

The Bears (4-9, 3-3 CC)  put four starters in double figures, placed by 17 points from junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and 16 points from sophomore guard Pat Vasturia (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace). 

Freshman forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) had a strong game, with ten points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore point guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) had 12 points as well.

Johns Hopkins (7-3, 3-1 CC) was led by 18 points from freshman guard Jimmy Hammer, who scored all 18 off the bench. Daniel Corbett scored 15 points for the Blue Jays. 

Ursinus pulled away over the first 3:50 of the second half, breaking a 35-all tie by going on a 12-0 run to go up 47-35 and never looked back.
