Leaving Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Ursinus College men's basketball team ended their two-game run at the 2011 D3Hoops.com Classic by dropping a 67-46 decision to Skidmore at the South Point Hotel and Casino Arena Friday afternoon.

Ursinus (3-9) was led by ten points from sophomore guard Pat Vasturia (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) while junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) added in nine points.  Junior guard Matt Donahue (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and sophomore guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) added in six each.

Skidmore (6-2), coached by Ursinus alum Joe Burke, got 22 points from senior guard Terron Victoria and 16 points from senior guard John Mantas.

Ursinus shot 17-for-47 from the field in the game, and trailed by as much as 21 in the second half. The Bears led for the last time at 11-10 with 11:29 left in the first on a three-pointer by junior forward Kevin Janowski (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt).

Ursinus heads back east and right into Centennial Conference play with a game on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at home against Johns Hopkins.
