HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ursinus College junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) scored a game-high 22 points, including the 1,000th point of his career, as the Bears (2-7, 1-3 Centennial) snapped a five-game skid with a 77-58 win over Haverford (2-6, 1-3 Centennial) Wednesday night in men's basketball play. 

Ward scored his 1,000th career point with 15 minutes to go in the first half as the Bears won their first Centennial game of the season.

Sophomore point guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) had 15 points while freshman guard Phil Walker (Sickerville, N.J./Solebury Prep) scored ten. 

Haverford was led by Brett Cohen and Ian Goldberg's 14 points, with Bo Friddell scoring 11.

Ursinus shot 61.2 percent from the field (30-for-49) and committed just 12 turnovers in the win. Ursinus also had a commanding 38-22 edge on the glass with Ward and freshman forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) each grabbing seven rebounds. 

Leading 34-30, Ursinus scored the last six points of the half to go into intermission up 40-30, then got up by as much as 19 points in the second half.
