Men's Basketball downs Plattsburgh State, 78-67

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Ursinus College junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) poured in 23 points, with sophomore guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Neshaminy) and sophomore guard Pat Vasturia (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) each going for 13 as Ursinus cracked the win column for the first time in 2011 with a  78-67 win over Plattsburgh State Saturday at the University of Rochester Chuck Resler Tournament.

Ursinus shot 60.9 percent from the field in the second half (14-for-23) finishing the game 51.1 percent from the field.
Ursinus also got eight points from junior forward Kevin Janowski (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) and freshman guard Trey Harry (Baltimore, Md./The Hill School)  Senior guard JJ Rapczynski  (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) had a team-high seven rebounds for the Bears.

Trailing by four at the half, Ursinus went on a 10-2 run over a 2:26 span in the second half to take a 55-50 lead and never looked back.

Ursinus took care of the basketball, only turning the ball over 12 times in the contest. 
 
The Bears open conference play on Tuesday, as they travel to McDaniel.
