Men's Basketball defeats Dickinson, 90-70

CARLISLE, Pa. - Ursinus put five players in double figures as the Bears (6-5, 2-2 Centennial) defeated Dickinson (0-9, 0-4 Centennial) 90-70 Wednesday night at the Kline Center in men's basketball play.

Freshman forward John Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had a game and career-high 21 points, while senior guard Remy Cousart (Philadelphia, Pa./Holy Ghost) had 20 points.

Junior guard Matt Hilton (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area) added in 16 points for the Bears, with freshman guard Matt Donahue (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity School) and senior guard Keith Page (Manchester, England/Blair Academy) each scoring ten.

Chris Harrington had 17 points for Dickinson in the loss. 

Early on, both teams traded the lead before Ursinus went up for good at 12-10 with 12:58 to go on a three-pointer by Hilton.

Ursinus would go up by as much as 14 points in the first half, as the Bears went to the foul line 21 times in the first 20 minutes. The Bears connected on 16 of those attempts (76.2 percent), while also shooting 56.5 percent from the field (13-for-23) and 6-for-13 (46.2 percent) from behind the three-point line.

In the second half, Dickinson would get within six twice, but, could not get any closer.

Cousart went 15-for-17 from the foul line on the evening as Ursinus finished 33-for-40 from the foul line.

Ursinus had a 32-26 edge on the glass, with Ward grabbing six.

Ursinus will host Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 1 p.m.
