CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team put it all together on Saturday, establishing a new season high with a 186.150 during a tri-meet at Cortland.

The Bears finished third behind West Chester (192.625) and the host Red Dragons (186.975), but the place mattered little in the face of a massive improvement that saw them blitz past their previous high-water mark by more than three full points.

Ursinus blew away its former high with a robust 47.200 on the vault and posted narrow season bests on the balance beam (46.875) and uneven bars (45.050), riding a bevy of personal records to a thoroughly impressive overall performance. The Bears earned a 47.025 on the floor, just shy of their best score of the campaign.

On both the vault and beam, every Ursinus gymnast garnered at least a 9.300 from the judges. Senior co-captain Lindsay Rush chalked up a new season standard with a 9.600 to finish fifth, and freshman Emma Gable's 9.525 was a career high. Sophomore Hailey DiCicco (9.450) and freshman Gabrielle Pitt (9.325) joined Gable with new personal records, and sophomore Danielle Terrenzio's 9.300 was her best of the year.

Thanks to Haas' dazzling routine, Ursinus was able to nudge past its previous top beam score from two meets ago. The sophomore racked up a 9.725 to place fourth overall and grab both a career high and the Bears' best individual mark of the year. Senior Matisen O'Brien's 9.500 was a new season high, while DiCicco was awarded a 9.350 to outpace the first two routines of her career by more than a full point. Sophomore Autumn Snape scored a 9.225.

Sophomore Samantha Aguirre produced one of the highlights of the day for the Bears, tallying an 8.900 in her first official collegiate routine after missing her entire rookie year with an injury.

DiCicco was terrific on the bars, earning a 9.425 to place fifth overall with the Bears' best score of the season. DiCicco registered a personal best by a full .150.

Gable was the other gymnast to go above a 9, garnering a 9.150, and sophomore Abigail Schwerdt notched an 8.9750. Rush (8.900) and Terrenzio (8.600) rounded out the Bears' first rotation.

O'Brien notched a new personal best with a 9.525 on the floor, where all five Bears hit at least 9.300 in a well-balanced overall effort. Haas garnered a season-high 9.425, and Gable was right behind at 9.400 in her first career floor exercise. DiCicco tallied a 9.375 and Snape matched her best score of the campaign with a 9.300.

Looking to build on their breakthrough, the Bears finally get to compete inside the friendly confines of Helfferich Hall as they welcome West Chester for their home opener next Sunday, February 17.
