Gymnastics fourth at Rutgers Quad

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Two days after opening up their 2013 season, the Ursinus College gymnastics team competed at Rutgers University, along with Bridgeport and the University of Pennsylvania.

The Bears finished with a team score of 182.725, two points up from their total on Wednesday night.

On the vault, junior Monica Durham (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) finished with a team-best score of 9.625, followed by 9.475 from sophomore Kristin Aichele (Upper Black Eddy, Pa./Palisades). Senior Stephanie Schmidt (Bloomingdale, N.J./Butler) had a 9.375, with sophomore Riley Acton (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) scoring a 9.325 and senior Johanna Warren (Shakopee, Minn./Hopkins) with a 9.200.

On the bars, Warren took the top spot with a 9.450, followed by sophomore Jamie Hammell (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) with a 9.050. Durham posted an 8.900 followed by an 8.850 from senior Erica Schnebel (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and sophomore Tianna Lettieri (Old Forge, Pa./Old Forge) with a 8.775.

On the beam, Hammell posted a 9.575 with Durham and Warren each getting a 9.100. Schmidt had an 8.775, with Aichele getting a 8.575.

On the floor, Schmidt had a 9.650, with sophomore Karina Marks (Lexington, Md./Great Mills) and Durham each posting a 9.200. Acton had a 9.125 with sophomore Dana Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) getting an 8.400. 

Durham finished with an all-around score of 36.825.
