Gymnastics fourth at Rutgers

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team placed fourth in a quad meet on Saturday hosted by Rutgers University and attended by Temple University, Southern Connecticut University.  The Bears placed fourth with a total score of 179.700 while host Rutgers placed first with a score of 192.075, Temple placed second with a total score of 190.800 and Southern Connecticut placing third with a score of 186.100.

On the Vault, the Bears were lead by freshman Kristin Aichele (Upper Black Eddy, PA/Palisades High School) who netted a 9.5, junior Katlyn Lawver (Newmanstown, PA/Eastern Lebanon Co.) who netted a 9.225 and freshman Danika Dellano (Winthrop, MA/Winthrop High School) who score an 8.975.

On the Bars, Ursinus was lead by sophomore Monica Durham (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville High School) who scored a 9.45, junior Erica Schnebel (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) who scored a 9.25, and freshman Riley Acton (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough Regional High) who netted a 9.15.

On the Beam, Aichele, who netted a score of 9.375, paced the Bears.  Aichele was followed by Megan Bolash (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks High School South) who netted an 8.85, while Durham netted an 8.45.

In the floor exercise, the Bears were paced by junior Stephanie Schmidt (Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) who scored a 9.375, freshman Adelaide Hurlbert (Inman, SC/Spartanburg Day School) who scored a 9.35 and Warren, who posted a 9.025.

The Bears are back in action next Sunday when the pay a visit to the Owls of Temple University.  Meet starts at noon.
