COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team finished third in a five-team meet with Towson, West Chester, Springfield College, and Wilson College on Sunday afternoon with a total score of 181.075.  Towson finished first with a score of 190.300, West Chester finished second with a score of 186.150, Springfield finished fourth with a score of 177.750 and Wilson rounded out the meet with a score of 125.650.  Even though the Bears finished third overall, they finished first out of the competing Division III teams.

For the Bears, sophomore Monica Durham scored a team-best 9.625 on vault, while freshman Kristin Aichele (Upper Black Eddy, PA/Palisades High School) scored a 9.6 in the event.  Freshman Riley Acton (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough Regional High) and sophomore Stephanie Schmidt (Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) shared a 9.35.  Senior Katherine Gelinne (Westfield, NJ/Mount Saint Mary's) scored a 9.175 in the event while freshman Danika Dellano (Winthrop, MA/Winthrop High School) rounded out the scoring with an 8.9.

On the bars, Ursinus was lead by Acton who sported an 8.775.  Acton was followed by junior Katlyn Lawver (Newmanstown, PA/Eastern Lebanon Co.) and Durham, who each sported an 8.725.  Junior Erica Schnebel (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) who scored an 8.575, freshman Jamie Hammel (West Milford, NJ/West Milford High) scored an 8.15 and Dellano rounded out the scoring with an 8.025.

On the beam, Aichele lead the Bears with a score of 9.55 while Gelinne scored a 9.525.  Schmidt sported a 9.15, senior Danielle Michielli (Claymont, DE/Concord) netted an 8.825.  Sophomore Megan Bolash (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks High School South) and Durham rounded out the event with an 8.075 and 7.925 for the Bears respectively.

In the floor exercise, Schmidt led the Bears with a 9.5.  Michielli was second for Ursinus with a 9.35.  Freshman Adelaide Hurlbert (Inman, SC/Spartanburg Day School) scored a 9.3, Gelinne netted a 9.25 for her routine.  Senior Andrea DeToro (Howell, NJ/Monsignor Donavan) scored an 8.5.  Durham rounded out the scoring with an 8.45.

The Bears return to action next Sunday with a tri-meet, hosting Temple and Ithaca.  Meet will start at 3pm.
