Gymnastics shines at NCGAs

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team wrapped up competition at the two-day National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships hosted by The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

On Friday night, Ursinus crowned an All-American in the All-Around competition as sophomore Johanna Warren (Shakoppe, Minn./Hopkins) finished seventh in the competition with a score of 37.700. She finished with a score of 8.975 on the vault, a 9.500 on the bars (which was seventh overall on Friday night), 9.550 on the beam and finished third on the floor with a score of 9.675. Warren was a second-team All-American on the bars, while finishing first-team All-American on the floor.

Aside from Warren, Ursinus senior Erin Slaunwhite (Halifax, Nova Scotia/Halifax Grammar) was named All-American as she was named second-team on the beam. She finished sixth overall with a score of 9.750 on Friday, then had a 9.4000 in the second day of competition.

Slaunwhite, along with Kristen Keane, senior Brittany Ang (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) and senior Jacki Clymer (Holicong, Pa./C.B. East), were named Academic All-Americans by the NCGA.
