Gymnastics second at mid-week quad with Penn, West Chester and Wilson

PHILADELPHIA – The Ursinus College gymnastics trip finished second in a mid-week quad meet hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The Bears finished with a total team score 182.925, with West Chester finishing third at 182.750 and Wilson finishing with 162.225. The host Quakers were first with a total mark of 187.925.

Ursinus finished with a 46.750 on the beam, 46.525 on the vault, 45.775 on the floor exercise and a 43.875 on the bars.

Freshman Monica Durham took top honors on Wednesday night with a 9.600 on the vault for first place. On the uneven bars, Warren was second overall at 9.525. Katherine Gelinne had a 9.425 on the balance beam, which was a team best, with Erin Slaunwhite going for a 9.425 on the floor which was fourth overall.

Warren finished third in the all-around competition at 37.100, with Durham going fourth at 36.875.

On the vault, Elle Kurz was second on the team with a 9.300, followed by Warren in third place at 9.250. Slaunwhite was fourth on the squad at 9.175 and Stephanie Schmidt in fifth at 9.200.

On the bars, Durham finished second on the team at 8.900, followed by Jacki Clymer and Erica Schnebel both tied for third at 8.600.

On the beam, Slaunwhite had a 9.400 for second on the team, with Durham having a 9.375 in third place, followed by Warren fourth overall on the team at 9.350 and Danielle Michielli in fifth at 9.200.

Finally on the floor,  Michielli had a 9.225, Schmidt had a 9.150, Durham had a 9.000 and Warren had a 8.975.

Ursinus will host West Chester on Senior Day, Sunday at 1 p.m.
