Women's Gymnastics wins 2011 opener over Wilson

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's gymnastics team opened the 2011 season with a 178.325 to 166.625 win over Wilson College Saturday night.

On the vault, freshman Monica Durham (Baltimore, Md./Catonville) won the event with a score of 9.450, followed by senior Erin Slaunwhite (Halifax, Nova Scotia/Halifax Grammar) in second place at 9.350 and junior Katherine Gelinne (Westfield, N.J./Mount Saint Mary's) in third place at 9.225.

On the bars, sophomore Johanna Warren (Shakoppe, Minn./Hopkins) was in first place at 9.375, followed by Durham in third (8.950) and senior Jacki Clymer (Holicong, Pa./Central Bucks East) in fourth at 8.875.

Slaunwhite won the balance beam with a mark of 9.375, followed by senior Brittany Ang (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) in second at 9.225, junior Danielle Michielli (Claymont, Del./Concord) third at 9.200 and sophomore Katlyn Lawver (Newmanstown, Pa./ELCO) in fourth at 8.700.

Durham won the floor exercise with a score of 9.075, with Ang finishing second at 8.950.
