Field Hockey Puts 22 On NFHCA National Academic Squad

GILBERT, Ariz. – 22 members of the Ursinus College field hockey team were named to the 2021 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad sponsored by OPA Winning Teams that was announced by the organization on Thursday morning.

 

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

 

A total of 2,300 student-athletes from 161 Division III institutions were honored as part of the NFHCA National Academic squad.

 

For the Bears, they had the 22 honorees compiled of six seniors, eight juniors, four sophomores and four first-years.

 

Seniors: Devon Carroll, Madison Handwerger, Gabriela Howell, Jamie Mayer, Erin McIlhenny, and Kayla Paulson

 

Juniors: Annabel Baldy, Jordan Moore, Amanda Panati, Addie Plummer, Laura Rothschild, Sarah Symes, Jordan Ulsh, and Lauren Weaver

 

Sophomores: Ellie Bruggeman, Madelyn Cooper, Tara Starita, and Kate Templeton

 

First-Years: Makayla Baessler, Eliza Donaldson, Amanda Groeling, and Maeve Montgomery

 

Carroll, Howell, Mayer, and Paulson received National Academic Squad recognition in all four years of their career and McIlhenny earned the honor for the fifth time in her career.
