BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Ursinus Bears field hockey team had three student-athletes receive All-Region honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), announced by the organization on Monday.
Senior midfielder Devon Carroll and junior forward Jordan Moore earned spots on the Region V first team, while senior midfielder Jamie Mayer garnered a nod on the second team. Carroll earns her second-straight NFHCA All-Region nod while Moore and Mayer make their debuts on the all-region roster.
Carroll completed a decorated career in Collegeville by tallying 18 points behind six goals and six assists in the 2021 season. She earned her second-straight All-Centennial first team nod and was named to the NFHCA Division III Senior Team. For her career, Carroll finishes with 77 points behind 30 goals and 17 assists.
Moore had a brilliant junior season for the Bears in 2021. She earned All-Centennial first team honors after ranking second in the Centennial with 14 goals and fourth with 31 points. Moore tallied a pair of multi-goal performances which included a career-high three goals against Muhlenberg on October 6th.
Mayer recorded a career-high 14 points and eight assists along with scoring three goals to conclude her strong collegiate career. She became the primary inserter on the Bears dynamic penalty corner attack as she set up plenty of chances for Ursinus to score in the circle. Mayer registered a pair of multi-assist efforts in the 2021 season.
The NFHCA Division III All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of postseason awards to come from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on November 29, they will be followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on December 14 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 16.
