Four Field Hockey Players Earn All-Centennial Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. -  The Ursinus Bears field hockey team saw four student-athletes be named to the Field Hockey All-Centennial Conference team, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Junior Jordan Moore and senior Devon Carroll headlined the honorees by both earning first team honors. Senior Jamie Mayer garnered second team honors while classmate Erin McIlhenny was named to honorable mention. Ursinus tied for the most All-Centennial selections with Johns Hopkins and Haverford. It is also the third-straight season that the Bears have landed four student-athletes on the All-Centennial team.

Moore had a breakout junior campaign in 2021 for the Bears. She ranks second in the Centennial with 14 goals and third with 31 points. Moore scored a career-high three goals against Muhlenberg back on October 6th against Muhlenberg, and recorded goals in four-straight games back in mid-September.

Carroll registered her third career All-Centennial nod and second-straight first team selection. She continued her stellar collegiate career by tallying 16 points behind five goals and six assists. Carroll's numbers from this season so far have pushed her career totals to 29 points and 17 assists.

Mayer earned her first All-Centennial nod after a strong season anchoring the Bears midfield. Mayer has recorded a career-high 14 points and eight assists along with scoring three goals. She has done most of her work by being the primary penalty corner inserter, giving the Bears plenty of good chances on the opportunities in the circle.

Mcllhenny has been a stalwart on the Bears defense in 2021 as she garners her first All-Centennial nod. She recorded a career-high seven defensive saves on the season thus far for the Bears. Mcllhenny was instrumental in leading Ursinus to a 2-1 double overtime win over then No. 6 TCNJ with three defensive saves. Her efforts that week earned her both the Division III defensive player of the week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), and the Centennial Conference defensive player of the week.

The Bears return to action tomorrow November 10th as they will face Scranton in the first round of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament at 5 p.m.
