LANCASTER, Pa. – After helping lead the Bears to a pair of wins last week, Ursinus sophomore field hockey player Ellie Bruggeman earned Centennial Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

Bruggeman recorded a team-high six points last week for Ursinus behind two goals and two assists. She opened the scoring last Wednesday night against #17 Haverford in the 52nd minute fourth quarter before assisting on the Bears second goal of the game three minutes later. Bruggeman followed that with another three-point outing against Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon in the Bears convincing 8-2 win.

The Joppa, Maryland native has been a dynamic force for the Bears offense in her first official collegiate season. Bruggeman ranks fifth in the Centennial Conference with 24 points and ranks second on the team with nine goals behind teammate Jordan Moore. This is the first time in her collegiate career that she has earned a weekly accolade from the Centennial, and the second Bear field hockey player to earn a weekly honor this season after Erin Mcllhenny earned defensive honors in late September.

The Bears return to action on Friday, November 5th as they will host Dickinson in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference tournament at 6 p.m.
