Moore Scores as Bears Shutout Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa – Ursinus College field hockey (10-4, 5-2) went on the road and defeated Swarthmore College 1-0 on Wednesday night at Clothier Field.

Early on, the Bears tallied 4 shots in the first period, two of which were on goal and saved by Swarthmore keeper Aaron Lankford. Ursinus led 10-4 in penalty corner chances, collecting two of those in the first period.

Just two minutes into the second period, the Bears offense was inside the circle when a pass found the stick of Jordan Moore who collected her 10th goal of the season. That's all Jordan Ulsh and the Bears defense needed as Ulsh picked up a shutout and collected five saves in the contest. Both teams would go on to have chances in the second half but both goalies played tremendously. Ursinus totaled 11 shots during the contest compared to Garnet's 9.

The Bears will travel to McDaniel on Saturday for a 1pm showdown with the Green Terror.
