Saybolt, Sherry Earn All-Region Recognition

All-Region Teams

GILBERT, Ariz. – Ursinus College field hockey stars Bridget Sherry and Erin Saybolt continued to pile up accolades from a standout campaign as each was awarded All-South Region first team status by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Sherry, a senior defender, is an all-region selection for the fourth time in her career and secured her third consecutive first-team nod, while Saybolt is a first-time all-region performer.

Sherry is the third player in program history to collect four all-region certificates, joining Megan Keenan '16 and Aliki Torrence '17. The backbone of the Bears' defense, Sherry started 16 games this season and led the way with three defensive saves for an Ursinus team that surrendered just 18 goals in 18 contests.

A junior forward, Saybolt was a first team All-Centennial Conference honoree after a strong season that included 13 goals and 29 points, both team highs and good for second in the league.

The Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of postseason awards to come from the NFHCA over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the Longstreth/NFHCA Regional Player of the Year awards (December 3). They will be followed by the Longstreth/NFHCA All-American teams (December 5) and the Longstreth/NFHCA National Collegiate Player of the Year (December 11).
