LANCASTER, Pa. – On the heels of an unexpected scoring spree, Ursinus College junior midfielder Brianne Nicholas was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Nicholas scored five times in a pair of road wins for the Bears, going from a player with one career goal to the team's leading scorer in the span of a week. She did all of the scoring for Ursinus in a 3-0 victory at Elizabethtown on Wednesday, finding the back of the cage just before halftime and tacking on two more tallies in the second stanza for a surprise hat trick.

Not done there, Nicholas potted two more goals in Saturday's 7-2 triumph at McDaniel, getting the Bears off to a fast start in Centennial Conference play. Both of her goals came in the second half, when Ursinus turned a 2-2 tie into a comfortable rout.

A weekly award winner for the first time, Nicholas and the Bears continue conference play at Swarthmore on Wednesday.
