LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College senior forward Colleen Leahy has been named Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Leahy, who produced 10 points in conference victories over Swarthmore and McDaniel, shared the honor with Franklin & Marshall's Melanie Consiglio.
Leahy posted two goals and an assist in both games for 7th-ranked Ursinus (7-2, 4-1), which cruised past the Garnet, 6-0, on Wednesday before a 6-2 defeat of the Green Terror on Saturday. The senior netted the opening tally in both contests and was ruthlessly efficient, needing only six shots to score four goals.
Through just nine games, Leahy has already established career highs in goals (7) and points (17). She leads the Bears in points and is tied with classmate Amber Steigerwalt for the team lead in goals.
The CC Player of the Week honor is the first for Leahy, who already owns three game-winning markers this season.
Leahy and the Bears return to CC competition on Wednesday, when they welcome Haverford to Snell Field for a showdown under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
