Field Hockey in Centennial Conference Playoffs for 13th straight season

Field Hockey in Centennial Conference Playoffs for 13th straight season

The reigning champion Ursinus College field hockey team returns to the Centennial Conference playoffs for the 13th straight season. Ten time champions, the Bears enter the 2015 playoffs as the number two seed and will travel to tournament host Franklin & Marshall to take on number three seeded Haverford College on Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm.

The top-seeded F&M Diplomats will face the winner of the first round game between fourth-seeded Muhlenberg College and fifth seeded Dickinson College on the other side of the bracket. The winners of the two semi-finals will meet at 1:00pm on Sunday, also at Franklin & Marshall.

The Bears are led offensively by senior Megan Keenan (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson), the 2013 and 2014 Centennial Conference Player of the Year, who currently leads the Conference in points with 51 and in assists with 17.  On the defensive side, junior Aliki Torrence (Reading, PA/Exeter), a first-team All-Centennial Conference selection in 2014, leads a defense that has recorded eight shutouts and only allowed three goals in Centennial Conference games this season.

The Bears will be aiming to repeat as Centennial Conference champions for the third straight year, and the 11th time in the past 13 years.
