COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Sixth-ranked Franklin & Marshall scored a goal in each half as the Diplomats (6-2, 2-0 Centennial) defeated seventh-ranked Ursinus (5-2, 1-1 Centennial) 2-0 in field hockey play at Eleanor Frost Snell Alumnae Field on Saturday.

Maria Guarisco scored at 10:10 unassisted, while Sarah Schannauer scored on a Bridget Falcone assist at 62:22.

Ursinus held a 13-9 advantage in shots and 13-5 edge in corners, but, Diplomat goalkeeper Illanna Santangelo made seven saves to keep the Bears off the board.

Senior goalkeeper Danielle DeSpirito (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) made four saves in the loss.

Ursinus goes to Swarthmore on Wednesday.
