COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A five-goal first half for Ursinus paved the way as the 19th-ranked Bears (8-2) defeated Elizabethtown (8-4) 6-1 in field hockey action on Saturday.

Four different players scored for Ursinus, while the Bears also added an own goal as the ball deflected off of a defender.

Megan Keenan started the scoring in the eighth minute as she scored on an assist from Nora Kornfeld.

After the own goal in the tenth minute, Amber Steigerwalt scored unassisted at 17:21 for a 3-0 lead. Kornfeld would assist on Ursinus' fourth goal at 21:37, when Maddie Craig scored.

Danielle Stong scored at 26:45 on an assist by Devin Brakel.

Elizabethtown then scored on a penalty stroke by Andrea Keady at 34:05.

The lone goal of the second half came when Stephanie Cooper scored at 65:52.

Danille DeSpirito made two saves for the Bears in the win.

Ursinus will take on West Chester on Sunday in the 67th Annual Snell Cup game hosted by the Bears at 1 p.m.
