COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College field hockey, ranked third in Division III, opened its home schedule on Wednesday afternoon with a 14-0 blanking of Bryn Mawr in the conference opener for both teams.
Senior forward Corinne Freeman (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vienney) netted four goals and an assist, with freshman forward Maddie Craig (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) and freshman Courtney Scott (Herndon, Pa./Line Mountain) each pitching in with two goals. Abby Wood had three assists on the day as Ursinus (4-0, 1-0 Centennial) held a 54-1 shot advantage.
Both senior Jill Lukens (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East) and freshman goalkeeper Paige McElhenny (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) played 35 minutes, combining for the shutout.
Ursinus will host Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon.
