COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College junior forward Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) set the record for most goals in school and Centennial Conference history on Wednesday, scoring three goals in a 11-0 blanking of Swarthmore.
Thren now has 73 career goals, breaking the mark of 72 set by former Ursinus player Jennie Moore.
Thren scored the record-breaking goal at 12:02, her third of the game as she tapped it into the right corner from the center of the circle.
Sophomore midfielder Rachel Pandl (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington) also had three goals in the win, with sophomore forward Catherine Bitterly (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven), senior midfielder Bridget Resetco (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown West), senior forward Jennifer Bayzick (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area), sophomore forward Alex Shafi (Watchung, N.J./Watchung Hills) and junior forward Corinne Freeman (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vienney) each having goals.
Thren also added in two assists, while senior midfielder Megan Yoder (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) adding in three assists.
In goal, senior goalkeeper LauraLee Lightwood-Mater (Bethlehem, Pa./George School) had three saves in 44 minutes, while junior goalkeeper Jill Lukens (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East) making two saves in 25 minutes.
