SALISBURY, Md. - Sixth-ranked Salisbury scored two goals in the
second half, as the Sea Gulls (5-0) handed third-ranked Ursinus
(3-2) a 2-0 defeat Sunday afternoon in the second game of the
Salisbury University Field Hockey Invitational.
Junior midfielder Kandice Hancock scored the first goal of the game
at 37 minutes even on a penalty stroke. The second Sea Gull goal
came at 59:47 when senior forward Lauren Correll scored for a 2-0
lead.
Ursinus and Salisbury each finished with 13 shots, while the Bears
had nine penalty corners but could not covert any into goals.
Senior goalkeeper Erica Scott (Carney's Point, N.J./St.
Elizabeth) made three saves for the Bears, while Sea Gull
junior goalkeeper Anna Cooke had nine saves.
Ursinus will be in action next Saturday as the Bears make the long
trip to Eastern Mennonite.
