COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Junior midfielder Megan Yoder
(Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) and sophomore forward
Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) had
three goals each as fourth-ranked Ursinus (13-2, 7-0 Centennial)
defeated McDaniel (6-5, 4-2 Centennial) 10-0 on Saturday afternoon
at Eleanor Frost Snell Alumnae Field.
Senior forward Jessica Zatwarnicki (Reading,
Pa./Exeter) and junior midfielder Michelle Wimmer
(Palm, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) each had two goals as the
Bears outshot the Green Terror 38-11.
Thren scored the first goal of the game 11:18 in on an assist from
junior midfielder Bridget Resetco (West Chester,
Pa./Downingtown West), followed a goal from Yoder at 11:54
for a 2-0 lead. Thren scored her second goal on an assist
Zatwarnicki at 18:48 for a 3-0 lead, followed by a goal from
Zatwarnicki from Thren at 25:06 for a 4-0 lead.
Thren's third goal came unassisted just 13 seconds into the second
half, with Yoder netting her second goal at 46:32 for a 6-0
lead.
Zatwarnicki then scored at 54:17 on an assist from Yoder, followed
by two straight goals from Wimmer at 57:37 and 58:49. The second
goal came on a penalty stroke.
The final goal came at 63:16 by Yoder.
Senior goalkeeper Erica Scott (Carney's Point, N.J/St.
Elizabeth's) had one save in 45 minutes, with junior
goalkeeper LauraLee Lightwood-Mater (Bethlehem, Pa./George
School) getting three saves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Jill Lukens (Furlong, Pa./C.B. East) had one save
in 11 minutes for Ursinus.
Stephanie Thomson had 13 saves for McDaniel.
