Ragland Named Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second time this season, Ursinus College football star Samuel Ragland was named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week.

Ragland continued to pile up eye-popping numbers with another massive performance in Saturday's 41-35 overtime loss to Susquehanna. The sophomore running back was dynamic both in the ground game and through the air, scoring three rushing touchdowns and adding a school-record 14 catches for 110 yards.

Ragland's 14 receptions were two more than his own program mark, which he tied in the Bears' last game against Muhlenberg. He has 26 catches for 286 yards in the last two contests. He also added 53 rushing yards, moving him over 1,000 for his career.

The latest in a series of meteoric games has Ragland moving into rarified air in the program's annals. The sophomore star's trio of rushing scores made him just the fifth player in Ursinus history to score 10 in a season, and he is now tied for fifth with 18 career touchdowns.
