PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Ursinus College senior linebacker Tim Rafter has been named a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team selection. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area and requires a minimum 3.00 GPA for consideration.

A second team All-Centennial Conference selection, Rafter led the Bears with 68 tackles during the 2016 season. That ran his career total to 246 stops, good for seventh in program history. Rafter was second on the team with 4.5 sacks and third with 7.5 tackles for loss.

A Business and Economics major with a minor in Wellness Education, Rafter also picked off two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown against Moravian. The co-captain added a fumble recovery and a blocked kick to his ledger.
