Baseball Trio Receives All-CC Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. – A trio of Ursinus College baseball seniors received recognition on the All-Centennial Conference Team, announced Thursday by the league office.

Will Peiffer was named to the first team, while Nolan Graber and Tom Jacobs earned second-team honors.

Peiffer was the Bears' best hitter this spring, leading the team in batting average (.346), hits (18), runs (14), doubles (4), walks (12), and on-base percentage (.478). An on-base machine from the leadoff spot, the left-hander tied for second in the conference in walks, and his on-base percentage ranked sixth. He hit one home run and had seven RBIs, also stealing a team-leading five bases.

Peiffer is a career .308 hitter with five home runs and 49 RBIs, and he also earned four victories as a pitcher.

Graber was sensational in his final campaign. The 2018 CC rookie of the year was one of the league's top workhorses, throwing more innings (46.2) than any other pitcher. He averaged nearly 7 innings over his seven starts, going 4-2 with a 3.28 ERA and 38 strikeouts to just 9 walks.

Graber worked a pair of complete games, including a 9-inning gem against McDaniel in which he struck out 10 and conceded just a pair of earned runs. He never allowed more than four earned runs in any start. Graber capped his career with an 11-7 record, a 3.56 ERA, five complete games, and 83 strikeouts over 126.1 innings.

Jacobs earned his second All-CC nod after receiving honorable mention as a sophomore. The veteran backstop was a model of perseverance, turning his season around after going hitless in his first 19 at-bats. Jacobs had a hit in eight of the last nine games, batting .417 (12-for-29) to close his career and finish the season with a .261 average.

Jacobs notched a team-leading eight RBIs, five of them coming in the season finale against Muhlenberg, when he hit a game-tying two-run single and a go-ahead three-run home run in a 7-4 victory for the Bears. He finished his career with 85 hits, a .305 average, 57 runs scored, three home runs, and 49 RBIs.

Additionally, senior Drew Fowler was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
