Fiorentino Fields Player of the Week Honor

LANCASTER, Pa. – Following a red-hot stretch of home games, Ursinus College baseball's Dom Fiorentino was chosen as the Centennial Conference player of the week.

Fiorentino swung a sizzling bat to lead the Bears (8-5) to three consecutive victories over Delaware Valley and CCNY. The junior finished 6-for-9 at the plate for the week, a scorching stretch in which he homered twice in addition to a double and a triple and also scored six runs.

With seven triples through the season's first 13 games, Fiorentino has already tied Mike Gizzi's program record for a single campaign, a mark that has stood untouched since 2003. The left-handed slugger hit two home runs and drove in six as part of a 17-3 rout of CCNY on Sunday, during which he moved past 100 hits for his career.

Fiorentino is in the midst of a sensational year, leading the CC in triples, total bases (46), and slugging percentage (.920). He is tied for second in home runs (3) while ranking fifth in stolen bases (6), eighth in runs (18), and ninth in on-base percentage (.508).

With multiple hits in five of his last seven games, Fiorentino has hit safely in all but one contest this season and has at least two knocks in eight of them.
