Baseball sweeps Muhlenberg series with 13-5 win

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A 16-hit attack, and a five-run first-inning, propelled Ursinus (13-8, 5-2 Centennial) to a 13-5 win over Muhlenberg (11-11, 4-3 Centennial) in Centennial Conference baseball on Wednesday.

The win gave Ursinus its second series sweep of the season (Muhlenberg and Washington College) and puts the Bears in sole possession of second place.

Freshman third baseman CJ Diana went 3-for-6 with three runs scored, while sophomore shortstop Devyn Kerr was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Sophomore first baseman Chris Jablonski was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

A four-error first-inning helped Ursinus get the five runs, capped by a two-run double from Kerr that scored Diana and freshman catcher Avery Perez. The Bears also got four runs in the sixth, with junior designated hitter Vince Rondolone hitting a two-run double that scored Diana and freshman left fielder Timo Muro.

The 13 runs were more than enough for starter Connor Moriarty. While not getting the win, as he only went four innings, he struck out two and walked three while allowed four hits. Senior Chris

Ryder got the win, pitching 3.1 of hitless ball. He improved 1-1, striking out four and walking four.

Ursinus will host F&M on Friday, before heading to Dickinson on Saturday.
