Baseball blanks F&M, 5-0

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College senior right handed pitcher Steve Berardi (Ottsville, Pa.) threw a complete game six-hitter leading the Bears (12-8, 4-2 Centennial) to a 5-0 win over Franklin & Marshall (10-13, 2-4 Centennial) on Tuesday in the opener of a two-game series.

Berardi fanned two and walked just one, while allowing six singles in the win.

He was aided by two RBI from senior second baseman Ralph Aurora (Plainsboro, N.J.) and two hits from sophomore first baseman Chris Jablonski (Galloway, N.J.).

Ursinus got its first run in the second inning as freshman outfielder Jose Colon (Bay Shore, N.Y.) doubled to right scoring freshman catcher Avery Perez (Long Island City, N.Y.).

In the third, freshman outfielder Timo Muro (Ridgefield, Conn.) doubled to left center scoring Jablonski, while freshman designated hitter Austin Feuerman (Columbia, Md.) scored on a fielders choice by freshman infielder CJ Diana (Chester, N.J.).

Aurora's two-out, two-run single in the sixth scored Colon and Diana for the fourth and fifth runs of the game.

Berardi improved to 2-2 with the win.

Ursinus will complete the series with F&M at home on Friday, but, will finish its series with Muhlenberg Wednesday in Allentown.
