Baseball sweeps PSU-Berks

READING, Pa. – The Ursinus College baseball team ran its win streak to three games on Saturday, with a doubleheader sweep of PSU-Berks.

In game one, Ursinus struck early with three spot in the first en route to a 6-1 win, while in game two, Ursinus (7-5) scored six runs in the first three innings as they won 11-5 over the Defenders (4-5).

Game one saw sophomore Chris Jablonski force in a run when we talked with the bases load, scoring freshman Jose Colon. Junior James Hoff then flied out to center, scoring freshman Austin Feuerman.

Freshman Avery Perez then doubled, scoring senior Ralph Aurora.

In the fifth, Ursinus added two more when Hoff singled home Aurora and Feuerman. Jablonski would score a run of his own in the seventh, scoring on a double by Perez.

Senior Josh Schnell, Feuerman, and Perez each had two hits, while Hoff had three RBI.

On the mound, senior Steve Berardi got the win, allowing just seven hits and one earned run in a complete game win. He struck out three and walked one.

In game two, Schnell finished with six RBI as he went 4-for-5, while freshman Austin Kurey was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. The Bears had five extra-base hits in the win. Freshman Devyn Kerr also went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, while freshman Alex Campbell had two hits.

On the mound, freshman Seth Regensburg went six strong, allowing seven hits while striking out and walking one.

Ursinus hosts DeSales on Wednesday.
