Baseball drops slugfest to Catholic, 8-7, in ten innings

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Ursinus battled regional-power Catholic on Wednesday morning at the Ripken Experience, before the Bears (1-5) dropped a 8-7 decision to the Cardinals (7-3) in ten innings. 

After giving up a four-spot in the bottom of the first, Ursinus struck back with five runs in the top of the fifth inning, then led 7-6 after scoring a run in the top of the seventh. 

Sophomore first baseman Chris Jablonski was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, while senior second baseman Ralph Aurora was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double. Freshman right fielder Austin Kurey was 2-for-4.

Senior pitcher Chris Ryder took the loss, as he pitched the final two innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs.
