Baseball falls to McDaniel

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus dropped its final Centennial Conference doubleheader of the season to McDaniel on Saturday afternoon.

The Green Terror (21-15, 9-9 Centennial) defeated Ursinus 3-1 in game one, while McDaniel handed Ursinus (7-27, 3-15 Centennial) 8-1 in game two. 

In the opener, Ursinus trailed 5-0 after seven innings before scoring three in the bottom of the eighth inning. Freshman first baseman Chris Jablonski hit a two-run single to score junior center fielder Josh Schnell and freshman third baseman Sean Pisik

Sophomore right fielder James Hoff then singled home junior second baseman Ralph Aurora for the third run of the inning. 

Hoff finished 3-for-4 with a RBI, while Jablonski, Pisik and Schnell each had two hits. 

Senior Jake Kohler took the loss, finishing 2-3. He struck out five and allowed three earned runs. 

In game two, Ursinus trailed 2-1 heading into the eighth, before the Green Terror scored six runs in the inning. 

Aurora, freshman designated player Devyn Kerr along with sophomore shortstop Alex
Manacher each had two hits in the game. Manacher had the lone RBI in the seventh, scoring Jablonski. 

Senior Ryan Furlong took the loss, pitching seven innings and striking out four.
