Wilson hits grand slam in loss to DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Ursinus senior designated hitter Kevin Wilson (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) smacked the first grand slam of his career on Wednesday, but, the Bears (6-21) dropped a 16-7 decision to DeSales (23-8) in non-conference baseball action.

Wilson finished 2-for-3 with the grand slam and a run scored, while freshman Sean Pisik (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) was 3-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI. Freshman first baseman Chris Jablonski (Galloway, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) and sophomore center Chris Menzies (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park) each had two hits.

Ursinus finished the game with 14 hits, three of them for extra bases.

On a staff day, senior right handed pitcher Ryan Furlong (Douglaston, N.Y./Xavier) took the loss as he pitched 1.1 innings and allowed two earned runs. Furlong was one of seven pitchers on the day for the Bears.

Ursinus will host Haverford on Friday afternoon in the conclusion of the two-game series.
