Baseball falls to Arcadia 13-2

CHELTENHAM, Pa. – Ursinus, playing its first game in almost two weeks, dropped a 13-2 decision to Arcadia on Wednesday afternoon at Erny Field.

Ursinus did take a 1-0 lead in the first inning as junior second baseman Ralph Aurora (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro) scored on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Sophomore right fielder James Hoff (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) was credited with the RBI.

In the ninth, Hoff doubled in freshman shortstop Devyn Kerr (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) for his second RBI of the day. Hoff and junior center fielder Josh Schnell (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) had the only hits for the Bears. 

In a staff day, junior left handed pitcher Chris Ryder (Douglassville, Pa./Holy Name) took the loss as he allowed four runs in one plus innings of work. He struck out one and walked two. 

Ursinus (3-6) hosts Richard Stockton for two games on Saturday.
