Baseball swept by Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College baseball team was swept by Dickinson on Saturday in a Centennial Conference doubleheader.

In the first game, Dickinson rallied to take a 5-4 win, while the Red Devils (17-9, 4-4 Centennial) blanked Ursinus (11-14, 3-5 Centennial) 3-0 in game two.

In the opener, Ursinus rallied from a 3-0 first inning deficit to tie the score at 3-aal; in the third. Kevin Wilson and Ben Gresh had RBI hits in the inning.

In the fourth, Ursinus took the lead at 4-3 when Brandon Sullivan singled through the left side.

However, Dickinson would score two in the bottom of the seventh and then hold on for the win.

Sullivan, Wilson and Garrett Smith each finished with two hits in the loss.

Steve Berardi took the loss, falling to 2-2. He pitched one inning, giving up the two runs in the seventh. Nate Schnell went six innings, striking out one and walking three.

In the second game, Ursinus was held to two hits in the shutout loss. Wilson and Josh Schnell were the only ones to hit safely.

A.J. Wright took the loss, pitching six innings. He fell to 1-3, allowing two earned runs while striking out one and walking one.
