ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College baseball team evened their Centennial record to 1-1 with a 12-4 win over Muhlenberg in the second game of their two-game series on Friday afternoon at Cedarcreek Field.

The Bears (9-10, 1-1 Centennial) punched out 22 hits on the afternoon and scored in sixth of the nine innings en route to the win over the Mules (16-7, 1-1 Centennial)

Senior shortstop Brandon Sullivan (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) was 5-for-6 with three runs scored and four RBI, while senior right fielder Garrett Smith (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesse) had three hits and three RBI.

Sophomore left fielder Josh Schnell (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) was 4-for-6 with three runs scored, while senior third baseman Joel Ackerman (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) was 2-for-6 with a home run.

Senior second baseman Lou Argentine (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), junior catcher Kevin Wilson (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) and senior centerfielder Ben Gresh (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) also had multiple hits in the win.

The 12 runs were more than enough sophomore right hander Steve Berardi (Hartsville, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) who improved to 2-1 on the season as he went seven innings allowing just five hits and two earned runs. He struck out two and walked five.

Ursinus will host Washington on Sunday in a doubleheader, starting at 12:30.
