On November 1, 2021 Matt Hagy began his tenure as the Director of Athletic Communications at Ursinus College 

Hagy comes to Ursinus after spending three and a half years as the Sports Information Director at Albright College. During his time at Albright, he served as the official contact for 12 of the Lions intercollegiate athletic programs and ran the department's athletics website and social media accounts. He also oversaw the main streaming platform and created the Albright Sports Network that broadcasted numerous sports on campus. He also had the opportunity to work alongside the Lions in the NCAA Division III Tournament which included a pair of trips with the women's basketball team. 

Hagy initially the Albright College staff in August 2017 as the Sports Information Assistant. In the role, he was the primary contact for 12 of the Lions 24 intercollegiate athletic programs. He began to oversee full operations of the department beginning in April 2018 on an interim basis before being officially promoted in June 2018.

He completed his undergraduate degree in Communication Studies with a dual concentration in Public Relations and Radio/TV in December 2015, before earning his Master of Science in Sports Management, from Cal in August 2017. 

Hagy spent a year as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant at his alma mater, California University of Pennsylvania. He was the secondary media contact for the Vulcans 16 teams on campus. In addition, he assisted in the production of the various broadcasts for the athletic department and ran the departments social media pages. Prior to his time as a graduate assistant, Hagy was a member of the campus TV station, California University Television (CUTV) that produces over 150 studio shoots a year. He was a primary broadcaster for the station’s sports broadcasts in addition to being a host for the numerous studio shows. Matt also announced the 2015 Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship for the campus radio station, WCAL, which featured Cal winning the title.

Along with his TV work, he was the Sports Editor for the Cal Times, the campuses student-run newspaper, in 2015 after serving as a staff writer for two years prior. Matt received an award from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) for a feature story he wrote for the paper in fall 2014 on the football team. Hagy additionally wrote for two SB Nation blog sites while in college (Down the Drive and Garnet and Black Attack) and was the primary Division II Men’s Basketball beat writer for HERO Sports for the 2016-17 season. He completed an internship over the summer of 2017 with the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the High-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, where he gained experience in different departments within the organization.

He served as the official scorer for the 2019 Division III Field Hockey Championships in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and well as the 2017 PIAA Football State Championship games.  Hagy also served as the official photographer for the 2018 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Baseball Regional in York and worked as the timekeeper for the 2018 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship Weekend in Lancaster.
