Izzy O'Connell enters her first season as a member of the Ursinus College women's lacrosse coaching staff in 2022. She will primarily serve as the team's defensive coordinator.

O'Connell comes to Ursinus after graduating from Old Dominion University in December 2021, with a bachelor's degree in science after majoring in health and physical education. She recently served as the Sports Performance Intern at her alma mater, focusing on the design and implementation of the year-round sports performance programs for football, field hockey, lacrosse, swimming, and Women’s rowing

O'Connell played and started on the Monarchs women's lacrosse team for all four years of college. She appeared in 28 games and made 17 starts during her four-year career on the team. O'Connell was primarily a defender but also saw time in net for the Monarchs as the goalkeeper. O'Connell earned Big East and Conference USA honor roll accolades durng her time on the team and was named Old Dominion Scholar Athlete of the Month in March 2018. 

Along with working with the Bears, O'Connell will also be coaching the Dynamite Lacrosse Club team throughout the year.

A Walkersville, Md. native, O'Connell graduated from Mount DeSales Academy (Md.) in 2016.
